Silly me. I didn't formally invite anyone to join this team blog. Which explains why no one has.
Doh!
I'll raise this at the upcoming committee meeting...

Electronic graffiti board
I'm experimenting with a free electronic notice board called Wallwisher which you can see at http://www.wallwisher.com/wall/staxtonsingers. Double click anywhere on the page to add a sticky note (a sort of electronic post-it note) and let me know what you think!

testing
Testing Windows Live Writer which I’m told is a more convenient way to update blogs. Don’t yet know if it works for team members.
New picture
We gathered in the windy, rather chilly, gloaming of St Mary's carpark for a new group photo, which we've wanted for our web site for a while. here we are just before being called to order!

Developing this blog
I've found that this can be a team blog, i.e. other people can post new items and subjects much like an old-fashioned discussion board. If you're interested please email me.
Otherwise, we had our Annual General Meeting .on Monday, then started to learn a new Christmas piece - it's The Twelve Days of Christmas but with a difference! Watch this space!

Welcome to Staxton Singers blog!
I'm just back from the first half of the excellent 'singing day' led by Jonathan Willcocks. There were around a score of us Staxton Singers and about the same number of young people, and it was a great joy to learn - very quickly1 - several new pieces written by Jonathan himself as well as a piece from 'Cargo.' I'm sad that I had to leave early for another commitment: I won't make that mistake again!
Meanwhile at our weekly practices we're busy brushing up some carols for Christmas and looking for ideas for concerts next year, our 25th anniversary, so if you can think of anything please get in touch: email me, or contact us through our website or just add a comment to this post.
